Dr. Farahnik is involved in multiple research projects through the Parkinson Center for Pragmatic Research and Bastyr University. He is also completing a Master's of Public Health degree at the University of Washington.

Manganese in Parkinson's

Dr. Farahnik is currently conducting background research and seeking funding to understand better forms of testing and treatment for manganese toxicity, which has been shown to cause or be associated with worse outcomes in Parkinson's/parkinsonism.

Mycotoxins in Parkinson's

Dr. Farahnik is currently conducting background research and seeking funding to understand better forms of testing and treatment for Ochratoxin A, which preliminary data suggests is highly associated with Parkinson's.

Social Health and Parkinson's Disease

Dr. Farahnik has collaborated with Dr. Laurie Mischley and Dr. Indu Subramanian in exploring the association between loneliness and Adverse Childhood Experiences and worse symptoms severity in Parkinson's disease.
